SYSTEM, METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DESANDING WELLHEAD PRODUCTION

A desanding vessel is connected to a fluid stream containing entrained particulates flowing from a wellhead. The vessel comprises an upper freeboar d volume wherein the fluid velocity drops and particulates fall from suspensio n. Preferably the fluid stream is introduced through a replaceable nozzle offs et upwardly from an axis of a horizontally-oriented cylindrical vessel and released particulates falling to accumulate in a lower belly portion. The nozzle extends into the vessel and beyond the inlet lend of the vessel so as to minimize wear to the vessel. The nozzles are flange for replaceable connection to the vessel.
