A method for the treatment of impure organic imide compositions in which one of the substituents has a sulfonyl group on a perhalogenated (preferably perfluorinated) carbon, involves liquid-liquid extraction with an aqueous phase containing, as an impurity, at least one chemical species selected from halides, sulfonates and sulfinates, especially those in which the sulfur is on a perhalogenated carbon atom. |
