PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxygen gas-barrier material excellent in thermoplasticity and biodegradability, and to provide a multilayer molded product containing at least one layer of such a gas-barrier material. SOLUTION: The oxygen gas-barrier material consists of a hydrolytically polycondensed starch where part of the main chain of starch is incorporated with a group of the formula: O-(C=O)-O, CH<SB>2</SB>-(C=O)-CHR<SP>1</SP>-O or [(O-R<SP>2</SP>)<SB>x</SB>-(O-(C=O)-R<SP>3</SP>)<SB>y</SB>]<SB>m</SB>-O<SB>z</SB>( wherein, R<SP>1</SP>is H, a≥1C alkyl,≥6C aryl or≥1C alkoxy; R<SP>2</SP>is a≥1C alkylene or≥6C arylene; R<SP>3</SP>is a≥1C alkylene or≥6C arylene; x is 0 or 1; y is 0 or 1; (x+y) is 1 or 2; m is an integer of 1 to 3,100; and z is 0 or 1 ).
