PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To modify a melamine-based resin foam to have softly deformable toughness. SOLUTION: The melamine-based resin foam is obtained by determining a compression ratio (t/T) and compressing the foam at the rate, wherein the melamine-based resin foam is modified into a sheet having softly deformable toughness by heating the compressed melamine-based resin foam at a specific temperature range at which the melamine-based resin foam is shaped into a soft sheet having a thickness (t) and loses restoring force to recover to the initial thickness (T), of the melamine-based resin foam.
