PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent corrosion, etc., on a medium slide contact surface of a magnetoresistive effect magnetic head sliding in contact with a magnetic tape. SOLUTION: The device is furnished with tape transport means 8, 9, 10 to run the magnetic tape 3, the magnetoresistive effect magnetic head 20 for reproducing a signal while sliding in contact with the magnetic tape 3 run by the tape transport means 8, 9, 10, and a rust preventive coating means 50 for coating the rust preventive on the medium slide contact surface 20a of the magnetic head 20.
