PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide photographic sensitive material having high sensitivity and low fog. SOLUTION: The photosensitive material has at least one emulsified dispersion-containing photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer on a support, contains a compound of the formula: (X)<SB>k</SB>-(L)<SB>m</SB>-(A-B)<SB>n</SB>and contains a surfactant wherein the critical micelle concentration of the emulsified dispersion is≤4.0×10<SP>-3</SP>mol/l by≥0.01 mass% of the amount of the photosensitive layer, wherein X is a silver halide adsorbing group or a light absorbing group having at least one atom selected from the group consisting of N, S, P, Se and Te; L is a divalent linking group having at least one atom selected from the group consisting of C, N, S and O; A is an electron donative group; B is a group capable of being split-off or H and is split-off or deprotonated after oxidation to form the radical A; k and m are each independently an integer of 0-3; and n is 1 or 2.
