PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously or gradually change a lift amount and the angle of action of valves, by rotating one camshaft without largely changing a conventional drive line. SOLUTION: The variable valve system comprises: an interposing arm 10 disposed near a rocker arm 1; a seesaw arm 20 which is disposed to the interposed arm 10 and whose one end part has a second roller 21 and other end has a third roller 22; a control cam 40 restricting small angle rotation directions of the seesaw arm 20; and a rotating cam 30 for lifting the valves 6, by pressing the second roller 21 to press the rocker arm 1 through the seesaw arm 20 and interposing arm 10 in this order; and a lift control apparatus for changing the lift amount and the angle of action of the valves 6 by the rotating cam 30.
