PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid compressor capable of preventing rise of cabin temperature when applied as a compressor for an air conditioner for a vehicle while securely protecting an included electric motor and an inverter. SOLUTION: This hybrid compressor comprises different drive sources of a prime mover for a vehicle and the included electric motor, and the inverter to control the rotation number of the included electric motor. A temperature sensor is provided on the inverter, and when heat temperature of the inverter detected by the temperature sensor exceeds a first set temperature value preliminarily determined, driving of the included electric motor is stopped, and the compressor is driven by the prime mover for the vehicle.
