PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic spinning machine capable of individually running up for each spinning section without requiring adjustment for it and to provide a method for operating the pneumatic spinning machine. SOLUTION: The pneumatic spinning machine has more than one spinning sections (1). Each spinning section (1) has a draft mechanism (2) having more than one roller pairs (21, 22, 23), a drawing out mechanism (4) having a roller pair (24), a thread bobbin (6) actuated by a friction roller (5) and more than one electrically actuated motors (11, 12, 13) for actuating the roller pairs (21, 22, 23, 24) and the friction roller (5). Each motor is constituted as a reluctance motor and each connected to a frequency converter (31, 32, 33; 41, 42, 43) via a switch (51, 52, 53). COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
