A dot pattern capable of defining code information and XY coordinate information even for an extremely small area and an information reproduction method and an information reproduction device based on the dot pattern. More specifically, on a medium such as a printed matter, a dot pattern is formed by dots generated by a dot code generation algorithm and arranged according to a predetermined rule so as to recognize various multimedia information. The medium is read by reading means as image data. The image data is converted into code data, so that multimedia information corresponding to the code dat a is read out from the storage means so as to be reproduced.
