<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a fuel injection amount to a specified amount by suppressing the variation of fuel pressure following the injection of fuel and the operation of a boost piston in a boost type fuel injection apparatus having the boost piston. <P>SOLUTION: High-pressure fuel delivered from a common rail 13 is fed to an injection and injected. Also, the high pressure fuel functions as a working fluid to operate a fuel boost mechanism 30, and boosted fuel is fed to the injector 30 and injected to control a fuel injection waveform. Near the outside of a cylinder head cover 50, a pipe expanding member 101 is installed on a fuel injection pipe 16, and a volume chamber is formed in the pipe expanding member 101. Due to the presence of the volume chamber, the overall stored amount of the high pressure fuel is increased, and a variation in fuel pressure following the fuel injection and the operation of the boost piston 31 can be suppressed to control the fuel injection amount to the specified amount. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
