PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to utilize revision of a file without making him/her be conscious of the revision when the user utilizes a file as an object of version management by copying the file. SOLUTION: A document management server 10 holds virtual binders to be formed by every set of a created document and its revised document in a shared document data base 14. Each of registration processing parts 21, 22 treats the document or its revised document as one file respectively, files a document supposed to be disclosed in an applicable binder according to an instruction of a document provider and describes a filed version in an index of the binder. A display processing part 31 treats a corresponding binder as one document when the document is taken out from the document management server 10 and a document acquisition processing part 32 takes out the latest version in the case of copying the document.
