PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographic element with increased photographic sensitivity of silver halide emulsions. SOLUTION: The photographic element comprises a support and at least two silver halide emulsion layers and contains an electron transfer agent releasing compound of the formula (I): CAR<SP>1</SP>-(L)<SB>n</SB>-ETA (where CAR<SP>1</SP>is a carrier moiety capable of releasing -(L)<SB>n</SB>-ETA; L is a divalent linking group; n is 0, 1 or 2; and ETA is a 1-aryl-3-pyrazolidinone electron transfer agent, wherein clogP is≥2.40 and a sum total of the Hammett'sσ(para) values of substituents on the 1-aryl ring is≤0.51) and a development accelerator releasing compound of the formula (II): CAR<SP>2</SP>-(SAM)-NX<SP>1</SP>-NX<SP>2</SP>X<SP>3</SP>(where CAR<SP>2</SP>is a carrier moiety capable of releasing -(SAM)-NX<SP>1</SP>-NX<SP>2</SP>X<SP>3</SP>; SAM is a silver absorbing moiety; and -NX<SP>1</SP>-NX<SP>2</SP>X<SP>3</SP>is a hydrazine group).
