<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the inside of an image forming apparatus from being polluted by toner scattered or dropped from an area between a cleaner unit 60 and an intermediate transfer belt 8. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with: an intermediate transfer belt 8 for receiving a toner image formed on a photoreceptor drum 4 and transferring the toner image to a transfer material S; and a cleaner unit 60 for removing toner remaining on the surface of the transfer belt 8 after transferring the toner image to the transfer material S. The apparatus is further provided with a toner recovery tray 110 for storing toner 101 which may be scattered or dropped from the area between the cleaning unit 60 and the transfer belt 8 to the outside of the cleaner unit 60.
