<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save on power of a system by turning a network circuit of an apparatus on/off in a system in which a plurality of printers are connected with one another via a network. <P>SOLUTION: When energy saving is not set at the time of termination of a print job, transition time 1 becomes infinite, a standby state is maintained and becomes standby state for the next request (S605). On the other hand, when the energy saving is set, timing of the transition time 1 is started (S606) and when a new print request is generated during the standby state, the timing is stopped and transited to a printable state. When the transition time 1 elapses without the request (S606;Y), the apparatus transits to an energy saving state 1 (S608) and starts timing of transition time 2 (S609). Similarly, print is performed by a print request within the time (S610;Y). On the other hand, when the transition time 2 elapses (S609;Y), the apparatus transits to an energy saving state 2 (S611), interrupts power supply to the network circuit as well and starts timing of off time (S612). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
