The rotary piston machine has a housing and rotor wherein a cylindrical bore changing into a spherical recess is provided to receive the rotors (2, 3) which are arranged at an axial angle to each other. The shaft of one of the rotors mounted on a shaft (7) passes through an opening in the spherical recess. A centring device which is freely displaceable in the axial and radial direction serves to compensate the production tolerances of the rotors. The inner housing (1) is prevented from moving axially away from the rotors through a suitable device (13) and at least one opening (16) in the inner housing is provided at the spot where the fluid stream enters or leaves the outer radius of the rotors for transferring the pressure of the fluid flow to the spaces outside the inner housing to produce the additional contact pressure between inner housing and rotors to minimize gap leakages.
