<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform appropriate driving control on an endless moving member even if a discontinuous part exists in a plurality of continuous marks arranged in the endless moving member when the endless moving member is driving-controlled by position control. <P>SOLUTION: A mark sensor detects the plurality of marks disposed on a transfer paper transportation belt, and an endless moving position of the transfer paper transportation belt is recognized based on the detection output. Position control is performed in such a way that the recognized endless moving position is matched with a target position. The target position in a period when the discontinuous part exists in a detection region of the mark sensor is set so that deviation from the endless moving position in the discontinuous period, which a position controller recognizes, becomes within a prescribed range. Appropriate control can be performed on the transfer paper transformation belt even if the discontinuous part exists in the detection region of the mark sensor when the prescribed range is set to an appropriate one. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
