PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize miniaturization and reduction in power consumption by forming a circuit 19, which controls connection between a line and an externally mounted telephone, with a semiconductor. SOLUTION: The communication device is provided with a closing circuit 18 to connect a network control unit 10 with the line by the control of closing control signals from the network control unit 10 and a telephone switching circuit 19 to switch whether to connect between the externally mounted telephone and the line or not by the control of the closing control signals. The telephone switching circuit 19 is fed by the local power supply, and at the same time, it is formed of a semiconductor.
