PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for fixating, on an organic material, a dye having polymerizable double bond in the presence of a colorless polymerizable binder and a photosensitizer (called sensitizer below) by ultraviolet irradiation. SOLUTION: The method for fixating a dye on an organic material, preferably on an fibrous material, comprises fixing, on the material, a dye containing at least one polymerizable double bond or at least one polymerizable ring by irradiating the material with ultraviolet light in the presence of at least one colorless binder having at least one polymerizable double bond, at least one colorless binder, at least one photosensitizer and, if necessary, an auxiliary agent. The died product obtained by the method has excellent fastness and the method is especially suitable for continuous dyeing and fixation. But the method is also applied to a batch system.
