<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent that an objective lens of an optical pickup is exposed at the time of loading or unloading a disk without providing special mechanism in the optical pickup. <P>SOLUTION: In an optical recording medium drive device moving between a position at the time of loading or unloading a disk and a position at the time of reproduction, the optical pickup and a spindle motor 4 rotating while loading the disk are integrated into one body as a unit 8, a dog leg shape shielding plate 10 is attached freely rotatably centering a prop provided at a position being separated from the optical pickup 2, this shielding plate 10 is abutted on a pin 11 provided at a main body part of the optical recording medium drive device, the shielding plate 10 is shifted to a position covering an upper part of the objective lens 1 in loading or unloading the disk at which the device is constituted so that the shielding plate 10 is rotated depending on an abutting state for the pin 10 in accordance with shift of a unit 8, and the shielding plate 10 is shifted to a position avoiding the upper part of the pickup 2 when the unit 8 is stored inside the main body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
