<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent contamination of a contact electrifying member with a residual toner after transfer and to make favorable formation of an image possible for a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: The Taber abrasion (mg/1,000 rotations) of the protective layer 1a as the outermost layer of a photoreceptor drum 1 is controlled to ≥0.1 and ≤1.0.
