PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer system in which a DBMS (database management system) is combined with equipment or software having virtualization functions for simplifying the storage area management of a DB data. SOLUTION: Prerequisites on system management associated with a newly prepared DB and the information of functions set in DB data are applied to a system management server. The system management server grasps the data structure of the DB from the information, and transmits an instruction to independently prepare a virtual volume for data storage to virtualization equipment, and instructs the setting of the functions for the virtual volume as necessary. Afterwards, the preparation of the DB is instructed to the DBMS to store data having the data structure in the corresponding virtual volume. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
