PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for retrieving and presenting data through a network. SOLUTION: This method comprises referring, in reply to an inquiry, to at least one search engine in the network designated by a configuration attribute and the inquiry. The resulting references are received from the search engine. The references are processed according to a research rule, and a research model is generated from the processed references.
