A toothed belt (11) comprises a body (12) made of elastomeric material and having two faces (14), two sides (16), and toothing defined by teeth (15) extending integrally from one face of the body. The sides of the toothed belt are treated with lubricant (18). Independent claims are also included for: (a) a vehicle timing control system comprising a tensioning device having annular retaining flange(s); and the inventive toothed belt; and (b) a method of preparing the inventive toothed belt comprising treating only the sides of the belt with lubricant. |
