The method involves generating printing data to be printed by each of two adjacent printing nozzle arrays on basis of tone information of image data to be printed. The printing data is generated in a range in which a sum of number of dots to be printed by two arrays does not exceed a predetermined number. Ink is discharged to a pixel of printing medium from the arrays on basis of the printing data generated. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) an ink-jet printing apparatus (b) a program to control an ink-jet printing apparatus.
