PURPOSE: A mobile communication terminal and a method for converting a call sound mode are provided to allow a user to easily recognize the calling status during charge. CONSTITUTION: A mobile communication terminal comprises a connection terminal(7) connected to a connector unit(9) of a charger(10) for charging a battery; and a control unit(4) for checking whether a portable phone(1) is set as a vibration or mute mode and automatically converting the vibration or mute mode into a bell sound mode if the portable phone is set as a vibration or mute mode when the connection terminal is connected to the connector unit, and automatically converting the bell sound mode into the previous mode when the connection between the connection terminal and the connector unit is released.
