PURPOSE: A method for re-selecting a path in an MPLS(Multi Protocol Label Switching) network is provided to re-select a path in a core network without informing a source node of traffic congestion, and to select a new LSP(Label Switching Router) detouring a node where the traffic congestion occurs, thereby quickly recovering the path. CONSTITUTION: When a P1 router senses traffic congestion of a link(S410), the P1 router initializes a point of a network structure table(S411). The P1 router decides whether a detour path for a destination node exists(S412). If so, the P1 router decides whether a path is available(S413). If so, the P1 router transmits a message to all intermediate nodes on the selected path whether new LSP setup and bandwidth assignment functions are available(S414). If so, the P1 router sets the detour path to a new LSP by transmitting a new ER(Explicit Route) list to the intermediate nodes and the source node(S415).
