PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate management of a large amount of articles by building a mechanism for identifying the location of a necessary article to reply to a terminal. SOLUTION: A physical distribution management device 2 comprises a location sending part 22. When the location sending part 22 receives an article location retrieval request from an externally connected terminal through a retrieve request receiving part 21, it communicates with each radio tag that is mounted and distributed on a container basis, and receives pre-registered article information and its current location information from the tag to identify the location of the necessary article and send the location to the terminal that issued the article location retrieval request.
