PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an elderly person, a sick person, or the like with the handicapped hips, arms, and fingers to wear socks by himself/herself without any help from the others. SOLUTION: A device for assisting in wearing socks is provided with two arm members placed in parallel, a lengthwise spatula member placed at the rear end parts of the arm members, and a sock locking piece protruding upward from the upper end of the arm member and located at least 5 cm ahead of the rear end part of the arm member. The socks are held in a shape to wear the socks easily. When he/she pulls the spatula member upward after inserting his/her foot in an opening at the upper end of the sock held by the locking piece, the sock remains attached to the feet automatically.
