<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system capable of informing a user of detected information while giving required luminance to the user by changing light output as an entire luminaire. <P>SOLUTION: A detecting condition is transmitted to one or more control circuits through a remote control transmitter and the light-intecepting part of the remote control unit by outputing a detecting signal from a detecting unit, and the lighting condition of one or more lamps are changed through a discharge lamp lighting circuit by a control signal from the control circuits.
