PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foamed ceramic shaped article having continuous pores, which is helpfully used as an adsorbing material in the water treatment field, a soil improving material in the agricultural field, and a noise absorbing material, aggregate, or the like in the construction field. SOLUTION: The foamed ceramic shaped article is a fired material of a glass-based raw material having a melting temperature of 600-900°C and a treated aluminum residual ash containing 0.2-10 wt.% aluminum nitride.
