<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain ink for inkjet recording excellent in discharge stability even after ageing under a highly humid condition while an ink cassette containing the ink is set on a printer, and a method for inkjet recording using the ink. <P>SOLUTION: The ink for inkjet recording is obtained by dissolving and/or dispersing a compound or the like which is a dyestuff having the λ<SB>max</SB>of the absorption spectrum in an aqueous solution between 390 nm and 470 nm and is represented by formula A-N=N-B (wherein, A and B denote each independently an optionally substituted heterocyclic group) in an aqueous medium containing an organic solvent miscible with water, furthermore, the ink contains at least one metal-chelating agent.
