<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a congestion controller suppressing transmission traffic based on a traffic characteristic when congestion occurs in an environment where a plurality of Ethernet (R) switches are connected. <P>SOLUTION: The congestion controller in the Ethernet switch is provided with a plurality of transmission queues having different priorities, a reception means receiving a pause frame and a suppression means suppressing transmission traffic from the transmission queue by the received pause frame. The suppression means suppresses transmission traffic from the transmission queue whose priority is the lowest by the pause frame received at time except for pause time, and suppresses transmission traffic from the transmission queue whose priority is the highest by the pause frame received during pause time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
