<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve conversion efficiency to a second harmonic as far as possible in a light source device equipped with an optical waveguide type SHG element. <P>SOLUTION: In the light source device equipped with a laser light source LS, a lens 44 to condense a light beam emitted by the laser light source LS and the optical waveguide type SHG element 53 to generate the second harmonic of the light beam made incident on the optical waveguide by the lens 44, a beam waist of the light beam condensed by the lens 44 is positioned on an incident end face of the optical waveguide or in the vicinity thereof and further the width of the light beam at the incident end face is made to nearly coincide with the width of the optical waveguide by adjusting the optical axis. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
