PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blind type fastener and a method for securing the same used for a lightweight composite panel such as a composite panel with a honeycomb structure. SOLUTION: The method for securing the blind type fastener in a composite material comprises a step of: forming a hole 48 in an outer wall 40 of the composite materials 40, 42, a step of pouring a liquid adhesive 50 through the hole 48 so as to fill a chamber 44 formed in the composite materials 40, 42, a step of inserting the blind type fastener 10 through the hole 48 into the liquid adhesive 50 until the head 14 of the blind type fastener 10 engages with the outer wall 40, and a step of deforming a weak region 62 of the blind type fastener 10 to bring into engagement with an inner surface of the outer wall 40 to support the blind type fastener 10 in the liquid adhesive 50 during the curing of the liquid adhesive 50.
