PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic distance measuring device that is constituted to prevent the wrong measurement caused by the multiple-reflection of distance measuring modulated light. SOLUTION: This electronic distance measuring device has a distance measuring and collimating optical system 1 and a point setting optical system 10. A cube reflector 13 reflects measuring light A from a near infrared light source 8. The reflected light B of the light A is made incident on a visible light source 14 through an objective lens 11 and beam attenuating member 12 of the point setting optical system 10 and reflected by the light source 14. The reflected light C of the light B is re-emitted toward the cube reflector 13 from the objective lens 11 through the beam attenuating member 12. The reflector 13 reflects the light C and the reflected light D of the light C is made incident to a dichroic prism 3 through an objective lens 2. The light D, made incident on the prism 3, is reflected in the prism 3 and made incident to a photoreceptor element 9 after the light D is further reflected by a splitting prism 4. The optical power level of the light D is suppressed to the lowest light receiving level or lower by means of the beam-attenuating member 12. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
