PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filtration apparatus for machine water which has a high filtration performance and is capable of recycling a filter. SOLUTION: Plural pieces of porous volcanic rock 10 are stored in a vessel 11. While machine water containing the soiling flows from an inflow port 12 to an outflow port 13, the soiling such as emulsified matter and fine particles in the machine water is adsorbed into holes of the porous volcanic rock 10 and is removed from the liquid. The volcanic rock 10 having the soiling adsorbed by the hole surface is taken out, is heated or is washed and, thereby, can be recycled. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
