A bomblet warhead (12) as can be carried to a predetermined height above a previously reconnoitred target zone for example by means of artillery rockets as carriers (11) is intended to be designed for the purpose of achieving a good effect even against target objects which are armoured in a hard and semi-hard manner and are in a protected environment, for example under trees or shelter roofs. To this end, the bomblets (13) in the warhead (12) - in contrast to the conventional equipment with shaped-charge linings which form jets - are now equipped with projectile-forming linings (29) (oriented at the front in the descent direction) and with bomblet fuzes (30) which detonate the respective bomblet explosive charge (27) to reform the lining (29) in an optimum target height zone after the bomblets (13), which have been ejected from the carrier (11) have descended in an aerodynamically stabilised manner. These bomblet fuzes (30) can be designed as programmable time fuzes (30) which are programmed as a function of the specified carrier ejection height when the carrier (11) is being launched, and are then started via the carrier ejection fuze (20). <IMAGE>
