PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a galabiose derivative highly effective for realizing detoxifying agents or detective agents for verotoxin, and to provide a method for producing the galabiose derivative for quickly securing necessary amounts thereof which has been difficult so far. SOLUTION: The galabiose derivative is represented by general formula[I] (wherein, n is an integer of 1-3; and Bn is a benzyl group). The method for producing the galabiose derivative includes using a highly fluorinated carboxylic acid as a protective reagent and carrying out liquid-liquid partition extraction operations using a perfluorocarbon and an organic solvent in multistage production process for purification.
