PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow simultaneous recording and reproducing of a still image having many frames for recording or reproducing per unit time with an extent to be seen smoothly by a user, in a disk recording/reproducing device with only one dual-purpose reading/writing head. SOLUTION: The device comprises a HD (hard disk drive) 3 with a dual-purpose writing/reading head 5; a wiring buffer memory 1 for storing still image data with m (≥2) frames; a reading buffer memory 2 for storing still image data with p (≥2) frames; and a control means 4 for alternatively executing recording operations to write into the HD 3 from the buffer memory 1 the still image data with≥2 and≤m frames starting the frame recorded in the oldest period among untransmitted frames to the HD 3 and reproducing operations to write into the HD 3 from the buffer memory 2 the still image data with≥2 and≤p frames starting the storage area in which image data of frames is stored in the oldest period among the still image data stored into the buffer memory 2.
