PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for rapidly and accurately detecting a polynucleotide having a base sequence in which one base is different from another base sequence referred to as a standard, even when a very small amount thereof is used as a sample. SOLUTION: In this method, examined polynucleotides are combined with probes in a short time under such a condition that a polynucleotide (A) having the base sequence referred to as the standard and the polynucleotide (B) having the base sequence in which the one base is different from the base sequence referred to as the standard are nonselectively combined with a probe compound, and then detachment amounts of the examined nucleotides are measured when they are separated, so that one-base polymorphism or one-base mutation is rapidly and accurately detected. Further, the examined nucleotides are analyzed by only contacting the polynucleotides with a very small area to which the probe compound is fastened, so that an amount of the sample required for analysis is very small. Therefore, another amount of the samples required for conducting many measurements at the same time is small. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
