<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a position with high accuracy without provision of an additional GPS receiver in a terminal. <P>SOLUTION: In the wireless LAN system, the respective base stations 110, 111, 112 detect mutual clock lag by mutual radio communication, the respective base stations 110, 111, 112 measure the receive time of a signal from a terminal 100, and the position of the terminal 100 is detected from the mutual clock lag between the respective base stations, the receive time and the positions of the respective base stations. Thus, addition of a GPS for detecting the position at the terminal is not required, and the measurement of the receive time of a radio packet from the terminal and the synchronous acquisition of inter-base station can be realized by a common function, so that the high-accuracy position detection can be realized at low cost and in a small size. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
