PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discharge sheets out of a device at a speed slower than the sheet carrying speed in the previous step by means of a simple structure without affecting the processing speed or carrying speed for sheets in an upstream process. SOLUTION: After bundled sheets S carried by sheet carrying means 36 and 37b are passed between paired rollers Ro6 and Ro6' spaced apart from each other, the paired rollers Ro6 and Ro6' are brought close to each other almost as soon as a sheet carrying function provided by a sheet carrying means is stopped and the bundled sheets S are discharged by the torque of the paired rollers.
