PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the position of a needle bar supporting body is shifted in a needle swing direction due to the thermal expansion of a sewing machine frame in the case that the sewing machine frame is made of synthetic resin and a needle swing mechanism is constituted of a metal member. SOLUTION: The needle swing mechanism 5 of a sewing machine 1 is provided with the needle bar supporting body 32 to be supported on the sewing machine frame 7 by a shaft 31, a needle swing cam 28 for swinging a needle bar 10, a cam lift detection body 30 to be supported on the sewing machine frame 7 by a shaft 29, for detecting a cam lift, and a transmission mechanism 40 for transmitting the swing of the cam lift detection body 30 to the needle bar supporting body 32. The transmission mechanism 40 is provided with a first transmission body 41 connected to the needle bar supporting body 32, a second transmission body 42 connected to the cam lift detection body 30, an operation body 43 connecting the first transmission body and the second transmission body 42 and supported on the sewing machine frame 7 by an operation body shaft 46, and first and second connection pins 48 and 50 or the like for respectively connecting the first and second transmission bodies 41 and 42 to the operation body 43.
