<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus where disturbance in terms of actual use is eliminated even when an error arises in near-end and/or toner-end assumed by use environment by recognizing toner supply capacity from a toner hopper and by setting appropriate near-end and/or toner-end and a setting method for setting near-end and/or toner-end time. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus which possesses a two-component developing device having a toner concentration detecting means and where the toner hopper for supplying the toner to the developing device by a toner supply member is attached, the near-end and/or toner-end time of the toner hopper attached is previously set in accordance with toner supply speed in a toner supply mode in which the toner is forcedly supplied to the developing device in a state that toner consumption by printing is eliminated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
