INK JET RECORDING MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording material which hardly cracks and is improved in discoloring properties.

SOLUTION: In the ink jet recording material having a constitution wherein at least two ink receiving layers containing inorganic particulates and a hydrophilic binder are provided by coating on a substrate, the ink receiving layer (A) near to the substrate contains vapor phase process silica (S1) of which the average primary particle diameter is r1, while the ink receiving layer (B) apart from the substrate contains vapor phase process silica (S2) of which the average primary particle diameter is r2, and r2/r1is 0.2 to less than 1. The layers containing the vapor phase process silica contain calcium fluoride particulates of which the average primary particle diameter is 5-100nm.
