PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the following problems: a malfunction such as ink drips on an ink reservoir is caused by leaving a printing drum at it is for a long time after the completion of printing operations; even the use of a method of closing a gap in an ink reservoir region with a blade etc. requires the new provision of a constitution associated with the method; and some sheets of paper are wasted by the time a fixed printed image density is reached, in plate-mounted printing etc. SOLUTION: In a stencil printer, an ink recovery pipe 52A, which forms an ink recovery passage 52 for recovering ink in the ink reservoir 24, is connected to the upstream side of an ink feeding pipe 53A with respect to an ink pump 50 so as to communicate with the pipe 53A; the operation of the ink pump 50 allows the ink with a decreased viscosity on the ink reservoir 24 to be recovered via the pipe 52A equipped with a solenoid valve 55; and the recovered ink and fresh ink, which is sucked in from an ink pack 51 via the pipe 53A, are mixed together so as to be refed to the ink reservoir 24.
