<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retrieval method for electronic business form capable of retrieving data in consideration of the relationship of the data for any types of business forms. <P>SOLUTION: Layout is defined by forming the type of a business form in an assembly of lines of multiple types and the parentage of the layout is defined by a tree fashion, and the data of the business form is classified. Based on the definition of the layout, business form data is retrieved.
