<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent wasted power generating operations, while preventing deterioration of a fuel cell due to thermal stress, in a solid electrolyte type fuel cell system. <P>SOLUTION: This system comprises a solid electrolyte type fuel cell (11), having a fuel electrode (13) and an air electrode (14), and a combustor (12), which is provided in the fuel cell (11), for mixing the exhaust gas from the fuel electrode (13) with the exhaust gas from an oxygen electrode (14) and burning them. A controller (33) detects power demand, and executes the waiting operation, where power generating operations of the fuel cell (11) is stopped, while making the operation of the combustor (12) continue, when there is no power demand. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
