PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably and continuously strip off a gel film from a rotary drum. SOLUTION: Dope is cast on the rotary drum 22 by using a casting die 21. When the stress of the gel film 25 reaches 450,000Pa, the gel film 25 is stripped off from the drum 22 by a stripping roller 26. The ratio (V1/V0) between the circumferential speed V1 of the stripping roller 26 and the circumferential speed V0 of the drum 22 is adjusted to be 1.001≤(V1/V0)≤1.5. (2) The clearance C1 between the position where the gel film 25 is stripped off from the drum 22 and the stripping roller 26 is adjusted to be 1 mm≤C1≤100mm. (3) The difference in surface energy between the drum 22 and the dope is adjusted to be at least 3×10<SP>2</SP>(N/m). In this way, the occurrence of defective stripping can be controlled.
